Turn to the Children

About us

The public institution “Turn to the Children” - a non-governmental organization, founded in 1996 in Vilnius. For almost three decades, our goal has been to help children who have lost parental care find a safe haven, grow into fully-fledged members of society, and prepare for independent living.

Our activities

Community-based children’s homes
Šiuo metu 8 šeiminiuose namuose gyvena 54 vaikai, o dienos centrus lanko daugiau nei 25 vaikai. Mūsų tikslas – padovanoti jiems prasmingą, jaukią ir džiaugsmo kupiną Kalėdų šventę.

Day centers
We provide day care services for children growing up in at-risk families and their families:

  • In Vilnius (Naujininkai neighborhood)

  • In the village of Čižiūnai (Trakai district), since 2015

Temporary care center
In 2010, we established the Čižiūnai Temporary Care Center In the Trakai district – it is a safe environment for children who need short-term care.

Transitional care (youth homes)
We aim to help young people smoothly transition to independent living. The transitional care family home represents the first steps toward independence: we assist in choosing an educational path, finding a job, renting a place to live, and developing social and practical life skills.

We are here to ensure that children have a safe childhood and a future where they can grow up with confidence.
